Bye bye tonsils and adenoids!
Within the last year Meghan's tonsils had gotten really big and were causing sleeping and eating problems for her. Even her voice had changed. So, she was a brave girl and agreed to letting us throw her a popsicle party for the next week or so. Given that Jack had been through this 3 years ago, we knew what we were in for. It's a tough fist week, but it makes them so much healthier in the long term. What we weren't prepared for was how tough she was going to be. That girl is a little trooper. Her surgery was yesterday, and the Dr. planned on having us stay over night. But, she was doing so well that they let her go home the same day. She was eating popsicles and drinking juice right away. She took her medicine like a champ and even got a "star patient" trophy from the nurses. Last night at home was great. She didn't mind when we woke her up during night so that we could stay on top of the pain medicine. Let's hope that the rest of the week continues to go as well. Ever since her first week of life in the NICU, we knew she was a fighter, and she just continues to prove it to us. I am so proud of her : )
