Things we've learned from our 7 yr old birthday boy:
- Never start your day without eating at least 2 bowls of cereal.
- When you fall asleep reading at night, you might wake up to a loud thud of the encyclopedia hitting the floor.
- Playing street hockey in flip flops isn't the best idea, but hey you can't argue that they're much quicker to put on than regular shoes.
- Leeches are nothings to be afraid of. In fact, it can be quite entertaining to watch them stick onto your hand and see how long they will stretch before they let go.
- Every night should be spaghetti and meatball night.
- Who needs posters of Spiderman and Star Wars on your wall, when you
can find ones of the U.S. Presidents, the Periodic Table of Elements and
the Mohs scale of mineral hardness.
- When you're the first one to fall asleep at night, you'll be the first one to wake up in the morning.
- 7 years of watching grandpa win at cribbage is long enough...it's time to meet your competition.
- On Neptune the pressure is so great that it rains diamonds.
- Sometimes you may have to start 5 different books until you find one good enough to finish.
- We may be heading to the 2032 Olympics if they make mini golf an event.
- Watching the big ships come into Duluth harbor is just as cool as dad says it was.
- That the first time we saw you seven years ago today, we fully understood what it means to love unconditionally.
